Subject – "Why it is important for a community like Pensacola to have a park dedicated to honoring all veterans’ that made the ultimate sacrifice?"
Participants –
Elementary (K-5) – Keep to 1-2 pages (may include artwork)
Middle School (6-8) – 1- 2 pages typed
High School (9-12) – 1-3 pages typed
Artwork
No bigger than 8 ½ by 11 inches
Any medium is allowed (paint, pencil, markers, collages etc.)
Judging Thoughtfulness
Creativity
Demonstrated the writer understood the prompt and stayed on topic
Demonstrated love of country and patriotism
Submission –Entries can be submitted electronically via our website veteransmemorialparkpensacola.org between Oct 15-20, 2017 or special arrangements can be made by contacting Lisa Rawson, CDR USN (ret) 850 982-8736.
Deadline – Oct 20, 2017 at midnight for the essay contest and May 22, 2017 for the art contest
Essay Contest winners will be notified – Nov 1, 2017.
Nov 11, 2017 – Please join us at the Veteran’s Memorial Park for our Veterans Day Ceremony. Awards will be presented during the ceremony.
